The Macroeconomics course is an introduction to the basic macroeconomic concepts that helps in understanding the economic forces that shape our economic environment. As economic agents, we choose to open businesses, to seek employment, to vote for this politician or that one – forming an informed decision is difficult without an understanding of the economics underpinning the policies that can transform it and the implications of developments in the news. Our actions are within an econo-political context framed by our governments and monetary authorities. A description of the roles and responsibilities of both actors will be explored. Students will be able to entertain discussions pertaining to GDP and its growth, unemployment rates, monetary and fiscal policy implications. The course deals also with the principles of national income accounting, national income determination, macroeconomics’ objectives and policy instruments, and the relative effectiveness of fiscal and monetary policies in stabilizing the economy.

The affiliated University will issue a course completion certificate on course completion and if an online exam is passed. If no exam is taken, the affiliated University will issue a certificate of course attendance.
