The course aims to introduce the concept of managing operations. It provides students with a critical understanding of the scope and strategic importance of operations management as it applies to a variety of businesses and organizations. Information provided is applicable to companies in both manufacturing and service industries. Students will explore how operations managers can help in building the competitive strength and thus increasing customer satisfaction and profitability of their companies.
The course covers topics such as: operations management and performance, Operations Strategy, product and service management, process design, forecasting, capacity planning, process selection and facility layout, location planning and analysis, supply chain management, inventory management, JIT & lean operations, quality management, and project management.
Since operations management is a practical subject and cannot be taught satisfactorily in a purely theoretical manner, many case studies will be discussed during the course.

The affiliated University will issue a course completion certificate on course completion and if an online exam is passed. If no exam is taken, the affiliated University will issue a certificate of course attendance.
