Foundations of Epidemiology and Statistics in Health Research

The course is indispensable to prospective health and medical researchers. The course describes the basic research methodology. This includes the formulation of the research question, sampling and sample size, formulation of the questionnaire, and addressing the research question. It offers an elaborate review of data processing techniques.

Fundamentals of Calculus

The course is largely an extension of basic calculus courses. Topics discussed include: Integrals, sequences, series, functions of several variables, partial derivatives, double integrals.

Human Resource Management

The course deals with the human resource management process necessary to run a contemporary human resource function in an organization.

Intermediate Accounting I

This course is an in- depth study of accounting issues related to the measurement and reporting of assets, liabilities and income in accordance with IFRS.

Intermediate Accounting II

The course is a continuation of BACC 305. It concentrates on the measurement and reporting of liabilities and of the various components of stockholders’ equity in accordance with IFRS. The course also highlights the main differences between IFRS and GAAP to provide the students with a global accounting education.

Introduction to Digital Media

In this course, students will develop a solid foundation of Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop tools and techniques. Students will learn the difference between vector based and pixel based programs and how to integrate both work fields to produce creative graphics. Moreover, students will learn how to use InDesign to produce a variety of single-page and multi-page documents, work space, function and tools.

Introduction to Hospitality and Tourism

The course is a comprehensive overview of the world’s largest and fastest growing business called the tourism and hospitality industry. It prepares students to advance in their hospitality career by offering a foundation of knowledge about the tourism, lodging, restaurant, recreation, gaming and entertainment, and club and events businesses. In addition, this course introduces the students to the different topics related to the operational areas of the industry which they will be exposed to during their academic fulfillment.

Introduction to Quality Management in Healthcare Organizations

This course will provide undergraduate students with principles of quality, theories in quality and their application, measures of quality.

Macroeconomics – ECO 202

The Macroeconomics course is an introduction to the basic macroeconomic concepts that helps in understanding the economic forces that shape our economic environment. As economic agents, we choose to open businesses, to seek employment, to vote for this politician or that one - forming an informed decision is difficult without an understanding of the economics underpinning the policies that can transform it and the implications of developments in the news. Our actions are within an econo-political context framed by our governments and monetary authorities. A description of the roles and responsibilities of both actors will be explored. Students will be able to entertain discussions pertaining to GDP and its growth, unemployment rates, monetary and fiscal policy implications. The course deals also with the principles of national income accounting, national income determination, macroeconomics’ objectives and policy instruments, and the relative effectiveness of fiscal and monetary policies in stabilizing the economy.
